Public transport

Public transport (buses, trams) is free of charge for all COP 24 participants with an identifier. From the main railway station in Katowice you can get to the meeting area:

  • by tram – COP T and COP24 special line or regular lines 13 and 19 (two stops, 5 minutes travel time)
  • by bus – COP 1 and COP 2 special lines (about 10 minutes travel time)

Bus stop "Katowice COP 24 Korfantego" is located just next to the Spodek Arena. It is departure point for shuttle bus lines:

  • COP1 and COP2 to Katowice underground bus station,
  • COP3 to Krakow city centre,
  • COP4 to Oświęcim,
  • COP4N to Bielsko-Biała via Pszczyna, Czechowice Dziedzice, Oświęcim,
  • COP5 to Siewierz, Zawiercie
  • COP5N to Częstochowa via Siewierz, Zawiercie.
  • COP6N to Tychy.

Public transport (buses, trams) timetable

Bus lines AP2 and AP3 provide access to Katowice from the Pyrzowice airport (Katowice Airport). The ticket, priced at PLN 14, entitles you to unlimited journeys on all bus and tram lines and regional trains within the metropolis for 24 hours (if you have an COP identifier it’s free of charge)

Taxi

In Katowice the following maximum taxi fares apply:

  • initial fee - PLN 8.00
  • tariff I (within the city limits from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday) – PLN 3.00 per 1 km
  • tariff II (within the city limits from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday and on Sundays throughout the day) – PLN 4.50 per 1 km
  • tariff III (outside the city limits from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday) – PLN 6.00 per 1 km
  • tariff IV (outside the city limits from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday and on Sundays throughout the day) - PLN 9.00 per 1 km
